How to create a memecoin on Solana
Minting the token is the easy part and takes minutes. The decisions you make in that same form — quote asset, fee tier, name and image — are the ones you cannot change afterwards.

Short answer
What you need before you start
| Requirement | Why | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| A Solana wallet | It signs the launch and receives the creator fee stream | Any standard Solana wallet; the launchpad never sees your keys |
| SOL for fees | Network fees plus the launchpad's own launch fee | Keep a little spare; a failed signature still costs network fees |
| A name, ticker and image | They are written into the token metadata | On StonkFun metadata is stated as stored on Arweave, so treat it as permanent |
| A decision on the quote asset | It sets what your token is priced in forever | SOL is the default expectation; other assets change the risk profile |
The launch, step by step
- Fee tiers decide your income for the life of the token. On StonkFun a 1% pool splits fees evenly with the platform while a 2% pool pays the creator 1.5%. Our launchpad comparison puts the published numbers side by side.
What you cannot undo
Costs to expect, honestly
Three separate costs exist: Solana network fees, the launchpad's own launch fee, and the liquidity you choose to seed. The first is small. The second is published on the launchpad's page — read it there, on the day, because these change. The third is entirely up to you and is the number people underestimate: a pool with almost nothing in it moves violently on tiny trades, and that is what buyers see first.
We do not quote a specific launch fee here because it is a live value on the platform rather than something we can promise stays fixed. Check it in the form before you sign.
